ABOUT HORSE MACKEREL

Distribution:Small-eye scad (belonging to the same Carangidae family as bigeye scad, with a slightly smaller body size) is mainly distributed in the inshore waters of the northwestern Pacific Ocean. In China, it is concentrated in the East China Sea, the northern part of the South China Sea, and the waters around the Taiwan Strait. It prefers the continental shelf areas in shallow seas (with a water depth of 20-50 meters). Coastal regions such as Fujian, Guangdong, and Zhejiang are its main fishing areas. Due to its adaptability to the inshore ecosystem, its annual output is relatively stable, making it a common economic fish species in coastal areas.
