The natural and aquaculture distribution of the giant tiger prawn (scientific name: Penaeus monodon, commonly known as grass shrimp or black tiger shrimp) is relatively wide, as follows:
Natural distribution area: It is mainly concentrated in the Indo-West Pacific region, including Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia), South Asia (India, Bangladesh), East Asia (the southern coastal areas of China, southern Japan) and the northern coastal areas of Australia.
